The SmartCommute Challenge is an annual non-profit public service campaign that works to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality in the Triangle.

We are now gearing up for the 2010 Challenge! If your company is interested in becoming a sponsor, please click here.

The 2009 Challenge was a great success! From April 15 - May 30, 2009, Triangle Area commuters and college students could participate by pledging to carpool, vanpool, bike or walk, ride the bus, or telework (work from home) at least once. In the end, 11,074 participants saved 77,321 gallons of gas and reduced 773 tons of CO2 emissions! Check out the rest of the results!
