Try these other options to save money on gas, help the environment, and improve your life:
- Try a flex schedule or a compressed work week
- A flex schedule allows you to drive to work before or after rush hour. Since you're not sitting in traffic, you're using less fuel!
- An example of a compressed work week would be a 9–80 schedule, which allows you to work 9 hours for 9 work days and get the 10th day off!
- Try carpooling with friends to social events
- Try trip chaining (planning your errands so that you make stops at several places — day care, grocery store, dry cleaners, post office — in one trip)
- Try biking or walking for short trips
- Try ordering items online rather than driving to a shopping mall
- Buy a hybrid
